Lions International is 1.4 million men and women in more than 180 countries working through 43,000 individual clubs to improve their communities.

Our Motto is "We Serve"

In 1917, Lions International was founded in Chicago, when a young insurance agent, Melvin Jones, presented the idea of consolidating the separate business clubs into one strong and influential club with the goal of helping the community and serving humanity.

The Mukwonago Lions Club was chartered December 4th, 1960, with 38 members. The club was sponsored by the East Troy Lions Club. The club meets twice monthly for business and program meetings from September to June.

Mukwonago Lions serve the community.

As Lions, our goal is to improve the community and world through our activities. Service to people who are blind and who are visually or hearing impaired have always been our most significant programs.

Major fundraisers include: Ice-Fishing Jamboree, Meat Raffles, Scotch Doubles Bowling and Ticket Raffles and of course, our biggest fundraiser of them all, Summerfeste, with the Father’s Day Parade and Fireworks. From Thursday evening through Sunday, every Father’s day weekend, we occupy Field Park on the corner of Highways 83 and NN. We offer free parking and free park admission, live music, softball tournament, many youth activities, car show, food, soda and beer. Each and every year this event gets bigger and better, because of the fine companies and people of the Mukwonago and surrounding areas, with their generous donations. This year we have more kids’ events than ever. Little ones up to seniors can enjoy events throughout the weekend with carnival rides and games, to the teen bands and dances. We also have expanded our variety of food and drink vendors. There is truly something for everyone.

Major community service activities include: providing playground equipment at Field Park, Shelters at Lauren,  Field, Miniwaukan and the town park, Scholarship award, Sophomore Honors awards, Easter Egg Hunt, collecting food and money for the food pantries for World Service Day and recycling eyeglasses and hearing aids for our sight and hearing programs. Wisconsin Lions Foundation recycles in excess of 1 million pairs of glasses annually.

The Lions also support these activities.

Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Nest Scout Program, World Affairs Seminar, Mukwonago Fire Department, Lions Youth Exchange, Hearing Dogs, Leader Dogs, Youth Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids, Eagle Scouts, Jerry Rudolph Scholarship Fund, MHS Drama Club, St. James Cadet Girl Scout Troop and other special projects.
